Tom Gamble continues to be the man to beat as the Simpson Race Products Ginetta Junior Championship arrives at Oulton Park for the fourth meeting of the 2017 season. Podium finishes in all bar one of the races thus far and a trio of wins places him at the top of the standings.
The team behind Gamble, JHR Developments, are enjoying a strong season across the board. Seb Priaulx sits third in the overall driver standings, whilst the Chesterfield-based outfit also sit first and third in the Rookie Cup with Harry Dyson and Adam Smalley respectively. Oulton park is Smalley’s local race, so expect to see lots of support for him here. Completing the JHR line-up is Matt Luff - fourth in the Rookie class - and Jenson Dineen, a challenger for the top 10.
Bringing the fight to JHR are Douglas Motorsport. They arrive second in the overall championship with Dan Harper as well as second in the Rookie Cup with Kiern Jewiss. The pair are joined by rookie Tom Canning, who enjoyed his strongest weekend to date at Thruxton, as well as returning driver Connor Grady, who sits ninth overall.
Harry King (Elite Motorsport) and Tom Wood (HHC Motorsport) round out the championship top five. They have taken a quintet of podium results between them, but both are still chasing their maiden win of the season. King is joined at Elite Motorsport by Greg Johnson, another driver who enjoyed his biggest points haul of 2017 last time out. The HHC motorsport line-up is completed by Ruben Del Sarte, who makes the journey from the Netherlands once again as well as Charlie Digby and Jordan Collard.
Fox Motorsport return with their rookie drivers Finley Green and Keaton Samra, the duo hoping to make a big impression here in Cheshire. Completing the grid is another local driver. Rookie racer Luke Browning hails from Kingsley in Cheshire and hopes his home county will get behind him as he makes his return with the Richardson Racing squad.
